SPAR
TO THE RESCUE (

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., June 23, 2003 - Hearts jump when a car crashes into
a chain store. A major national retailer faced this trauma when their
relatively new freestanding store in the midwest was shaken this spring. A
driver smashed through the store damaging gondolas and wall fixtures in the
way.
While
no one was critically injured, a quadrant of the store was left unusable for
business. Management sectioned the area off, continuing operations elsewhere.
The
national chain quickly moved to restore the damaged section. Their national
staff called contractors the same day to rebuild the wall, ceiling, lighting
and flooring, and cart-away damaged fixtures. Local employees boxed inventory
and moved it to the back room.
The
national chain also called SPAR Group, America's leading retail merchandising
company, to install new fixtures and restore the location to full operation.
SPAR has served them in the past by remodeling existing stores and setting-up
new locations including this particular one last fall.
The
week after the crash, SPAR worked closely with chain management. They installed
new fixtures together, followed plan-o-grams, stocked the shelves and applied
tags and signage. In only four days, virtually all was ready for customers and
sales. The chain's staff remained several days to fine-tune the operation and
complete back-fill of product.
This
national retailer was extremely pleased with the SPAR crew and how quickly and
professionally they restored the area to full operations, commenting on what an
outstanding job they did.
